Launching of SIB
SIB (Staff Information Bureau) is a platform for Microfinance Institutions (MFIs) promoted by INAFI Bangladesh Foundation to find solutions for better human resource management ensuring qualitative recruitment. It is a web based central database of microfinance staff which is designed to contain staff database of all MFI/NGOs across the country.
Staff dropout as well as Staff delinquency is one of the significant challenges being faced by the MFIs which in turn hinder the smooth growth of the whole microcredit sector. We believe that from the effective operation of SIB not only the institutions (MFIs) will be benefitted but also it will benefit the staffs by standardizing their work performance.
SIB has been piloted with the participation of 5 MFIs i.e. BRAC, BURO Bangladesh, POPI, Coast Trust and SKS Foundation. In the development process SIB has been shared with INAFI member organizations (MOs) as well as some other leading MFIs through a couple of workshops and meetings for their feedback and guideline. Finally on January 8, 2018 INAFI organized a launching workshop to launch SIB. Mr. Amalendu Mukharjee, Executive Vice Chairman, MRA was present at the workshop as the Chief Guest. Among the Guests of Honour present were, Mr. Md. Fayzer Rahman, Executive Vice President, ASA, Mr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, Director, Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), Mr. Md. Abdul Awal, Executive Director, Credit Development Forum (CDF) and Mr. Zakir Hossain, Executive Director, BURO Bangladesh. SIB is currently participated by 9 MFIs i.e. BRAC, BURO Bangladesh, POPI, Coast Trust, SKS Foundation, Shakti Foundation, GHASHFUL, TMSS and PBK and some more MFIs are in the pipeline to join.
